What the Bible Says About Believing in Jesus Christ as Your Lord and Saviour

God takes the initiative

God takes the initiative to restore His broken relationship with mankind.

From that time of the fall in Eden, the Creator had a plan in place to re-connect with His creation. The gospel of Jesus Christ is God’s plan.

Here is Where You Could Get Started with Reading the Bible

What the Bible Says About Believing in Jesus Christ as Your Lord and Saviour

Keep on asking, and you will be given what you ask for. Keep on looking, and you will find. Keep on knocking, and the door will be opened.

– Matthew 7:7 NLT

Jesus answered, “I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me.

– John 14:6 NIV

For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord.

– Romans 6:23 NIV

Jesus is THE Christ, the Messiah spoken of by the Old Testament prophets about
a Saviour King who will deliver the Israelites from slavery. Little did they know
that God Himself, as Jesus Christ would come down to earth for them.

But Jesus Christ did not die on the cross just for them. He was THE sacrifice for
all of mankind to be saved from the slavery of sin, of death and their eternal consequences.

Don’t misunderstand why I have come. I did not come to abolish the law of Moses or the writings of the prophets. No, I came to accomplish their purpose.

– Matthew 5:17 NLT

You search the Scriptures because you think they give you eternal life. But the Scriptures point to me!

– John 5:39 NLT

The next day John saw Jesus coming toward him, and said, “Behold! The Lamb of God who takes away the sin of the world!

– John 1:29 NKJV

He said to them, “How foolish you are, and how slow to believe all that the prophets have spoken! Did not the Messiah have to suffer these things and then enter his glory?” And beginning with Moses and all the Prophets, he explained to them what was said in all the Scriptures concerning himself.

– Luke 24:25-27 NIV

For even the Son of Man did not come to be served, but to serve, and to give his life as a ransom for many.

– Mark 10:45 NIV

In a loud voice they were saying: “Worthy is the Lamb, who was slain, to receive power and wealth and wisdom and strength and honour and glory and praise!”

– Revelation 5:12 NIV

The gospel story of Jesus Christ is for us today. Jesus is the embodiment
of the same God who created the earth and all the heavens.

So it is important to understand that by wrapping Himself in flesh as Jesus the Christ,
God emptied Himself of all His gloriousness. He did that for you and I.

In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. He was with God in the beginning. Through him all things were made; without him nothing was made that has been made. In him was life, and that life was the light of all mankind. The light shines in the darkness, and the darkness has not overcome it.
The Word became flesh and made his dwelling among us. We have seen his glory, the glory of the one and only Son, who came from the Father, full of grace and truth.
No one has ever seen God, but the one and only Son, who is himself God and is in closest relationship with the Father, has made him known.

– 1 John 1:1-5, 14, 18 NIV

Now, brothers and sisters, I want to remind you of the gospel I preached to you, which you received and on which you have taken your stand. By this gospel you are saved, if you hold firmly to the word I preached to you. Otherwise, you have believed in vain. For what I received I passed on to you as of first importance: that Christ died for our sins according to the Scriptures, that he was buried, that he was raised on the third day according to the Scriptures.

– 1 Corinthians 15:1-4 NIV

For we are His workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand that we should walk in them.

– Ephesians 2:10 NKJV

You didn’t choose me. I chose you. I appointed you to go and produce fruit that will last, so that the Father will give you whatever you ask for, using my name.

– John 15:16 NLT
